  • Mesa Arch in Canyonlands, Utah has been one of those iconic images that has been done by so many photographers. However it is still a personal challenge to see how I can deal with this scene unfolding surrounded by a lineup of photographers. Being able to block out all the others and truly focus on the scene was the goal. Light changes so quickly, so it is a mad scramble to bracket the exposures & composition and try to capture what I really saw. When I look at the end result, I feel like I was the only one there experiencing this force of nature! 9-27-14. CANYONLANDS- MESA ARCH- UTAH

  • Early morning clouds before sunrise over the north window at Arches National Park. The window is 40-50 feet tall, just to give it some scale. I found that no one is around before dawn in Arches, just a few photographers. It was about 50 degrees and extremely peaceful surrounded by the north & south arch as well as Turret arch. September 29, 2014. The early bird sometimes get the photo! CANYONLANDS- MESA ARCH- UTAH
